Organ Donor

A couple of months ago Trixie Vixen joined me for a shoot we'd been talking about for a little while:



The tattoo reveals something that Trixie feels strongly about and she wanted to record it.

Apple

Back in 2009 I picked up a cheap 'mini studio' from a store in Dublin. It folds out into a space about 18 inches high & wide, and has white translucent sides with a small backdrop which is blue on one side and grey on the other. So it's useful for shooting small inanimate objects:



In this example I had one flash outside of the box to the right, with another left of the camera but pointing at the apple itself. The lens was not quite wide open, at f/2.8, although I think f/8 may be better as it would allow greater depth of field and in theory greater sharpness on the apple itself.

This is all part of a 2011 plan to use many of the things I have (props, accessories, even magazine articles & examples) to the fullest in my photography!

More work with Sedition Industries, this time a studio shoot to provide some headshots and promo material for their website.

I shot with four of the Sedettes, Kay (aka PostModern Sleeze Sedition) is the subject here and I really like her eye makeup! Looks cool to me anyway.

The studio was The Joinery in Dublin.

For this one I got to shoot with model Geraldine Farrell.

I've been a fan of her work for a while so it was nice to finally get to work with her on a project.

Makeup was again provided by Tracey Conlon who did a really top class job on the day (which turned out to be a long one!).

One of the shots from the recent studio shoot with Helga Stibi.

I had come up with an idea of showing the aftermath or debris from a night out, and the photographer who was using the earlier session the studio donated the roses! I brought along some empty bottles, and makeup artist Sarah provided the handbag and it's contents.

Another shot of Irina, this time with a blonde wig! I like this one a lot.

The background colour was achieved by using blue gels on each of the Bowens Espirit 1000W lamps we had pointing at the back wall of the studio (which is actually a white board).

Major credit due to makeup artist Melissa Curran who provided the wigs for the shoot.

Into the studio last weekend for a shoot with Irina Rai. We tried a number of different ideas as Irina (and makeup artist Melissa) had broguht several different outfits, wigs etc. to add a bit of variety to the session.
